Vince Gilligan Brings Breaking Bad to Broadway
Your favorite dramatic crime show is now being developed for a sing through musical set to open in the Spring of 2016.
Bryan Cranston will reprise his role as science teacher turned kingpin Walter White and Justin Timberlake has signed on for the role of the meth-addled derelict Jesse Pinkman portrayed by Aaron Paul in the AMC series. When asked about the decision to bring the cult phenomenon to the stage Cranston says the show is "The perfect story to play out on a Broadway stage. All the drama, all the suspense. It is just asking for it." |
Series creator Vince Gilligan said "Our gut told us it was right. As the writers and I worked through all these different possibilities, it felt right, I think it was absolutely necessary for fans of Breaking Bad to hear Tuco sing."
The wildly successful Breaking Bad ran for 5 seasons from 2008 until 2013. It was nominated for 58 Primetime Emmys winning 16. It also won two Peabody Awards, one in 2008 and one in 2013.
